Event description

Are you interested in maximising your research impact?

This workshop is aimed at those wishing to publish for audiences in various sectors using a range of formats and approaches. The aim is for people to think about their target audience and design communication strategies that will work for specific groups.

This workshop is for all disciplines, but particularly those wanting to communicate with audiences in government, industry and civil society organisations.

This two-hour virtual workshop will be delivered by Outside Opinion's Senior Associate Dr Amanda Lawrence. Dr Lawrence provides this workshop routinely to a range of Australian universities and draws on her considerable expertise in digital publishing and impact.

This is a hands on workshop you will both learn about publishing strategies and start working on their own plan. By the end of the workshop you will:

  • Understand the key elements of publishing for research impact including planning, production, publishing, preservation and promotion.
  • Have begun to draft your own publishing strategy including communication goals, stakeholder analysis, publishing formats, timing and strategy

Please note - this session will be recorded but given the interactive nature of this session, we strongly encourage you to attend in person as the session recording will be of limited value in isolation. Please also be aware that participant numbers for this session are capped - first-in, best dressed!

This is a UTS Aspire event. Aspire is a program of pan-university research development opportunities led by the Research Capability and Development Team.
