Release the Data: Publishing Research Data

This event has passed Register

Event description

Your data has a longer lifespan than you might realise. You may continue working on the data after the project has finished, you could use it for follow-up or new projects, and other researchers may also be interested in re-using the data in new and exciting fields.

Well preserved and shared data boosts opportunities for further research, learning and innovation. Keeping good data also ensures you meet requirements for responsible research, ensuring your research is reproducible and can withstand scrutiny.

In this workshop, we will explore benefits and challenges of preserving and sharing research data, and provide insight into the tools available to make the process easy.

The workshop will provide an overview on:

• How and when to publish or archive research data

• Requirements around retention of research data

• Creating archival data records in Stash

• Publishing your research data through Stash

• De-identifying sensitive data
