Si Greaves has been a ubiquitous presence in the Byron underground music scene for some decades. He fronted grunge/noise bands like The Mood, that toured with Sonic Youth and Dinosaur Jr while still performing classical guitar concerts being a founding member of the Byron Music Society. Si has also been a major player in live and recorded music production, running Museagency studios in Byron with partner Gyan since early 2000’s.
Si studied at Adelaide Conservatorium in his youth and is now completing Master of Music Research at Queensland Conservatorium, exploring Sports Science approaches with music practice. Gyan has her own international singing career with an ARIA award and more recently Sydney Theatre production and CBCA publishing awards shared with Si.
‘I’ve put together some of my absolute favourite songs from the classical and alternative-pop/punk genres and invited artists I’ve previously produced, Merryn Jeann, Dane Tucquet, Eva Diana and of course Gyan to highlight some of my own orchestrations. With the help of the Little Tendrils strings the repertoire will be complemented by other iconic composers and arrangers from Rodrigo and Messiaen to Bjork.’
Part recording studio, part concert hall, traverse two musical worlds to explore deep musical experience with a window into artistic process.
