Putting Together the Puzzle - Stigma Discrimination and Injecting Drug Use 

Building understanding, strengthening practice – for housing & homelessness workers 

• Deepen understanding and knowledge of substance use and people who use substances

• Explore how drug use stigma manifests in housing and homelessness settings

• Build confidence, strengthen AOD practice and create more inclusive housing support 

QuIHN & QuIVAA’s lived -living experience facilitators provide a comprehensive deep dive in to stigma & discrimination toward people who inject drugs. Using real life insights and interactive discussions, this workshop aims to deepen understanding and strengthen AOD practice amongst housing and homelessness workers and improve outcomes for people who use drugs within housing and homelessness settings. 

Developed by Australian Injecting & Illicit Drug Users League (AIVL), led by QLD Injectors Health Network (QuIHN) and QLD Injectors Voice for Advocacy & Action, Putting Together the Puzzle provides the authentic voice of people who use drugs in QLD.  

For any housing & homelessness workers, case workers, support workers, admin & reception workers, policy makers, managers and project officers, IHR workers, crisis accommodation workers, and anyone working within housing and homelessness settings.

Putting Together the Puzzle workshops are FREE and are 5 hours (half day) duration (including breaks).  

In person workshops being held across QLD throughout late 2026 and early 2027. 

Facilitated by QuIHN & QuIVAA’s lived-living experience workers, in collaboration with QuIVAA & AIVL. Funded by QLD Mental Health Commission.
