PWIT Workshop 2: Practical full-cost funding for NFPs and Funders
Event description
Practical full-cost funding for NFPs and Funders
We know that organisations being funded for the full cost of creating impact is important. But how can funders or NFPs know what the full cost actually is? What does good full-cost funding look like in practice, and how can we make it happen?
This workshop, for both funders and NFPs, will explore what capabilities organisations need to be effective and how to pay for it.
The workshop will be divided into two parts:
1. What does it take?
There is no clear sector-wide agreement on what full-cost funding includes, and which capabilities organisations need to be effective. For example, whether it includes money for innovation, or strategic thinking, or reserves. This first section of the workshop will start to create a common and consistent language about what the true costs of impact are.
2. How do you pay for it?
There are a number of different ways to capture true costs, and then different ways to fund them effectively. The second part of the workshop will work to explore the ways to implement full-cost funding as an NFP or funder, and what tools may be useful to support this.
