Q Grading to CVA | Understanding the Shift | Q&A Session Hosted by Ben Bicknell
Event description
As the coffee world faces major changes with the SCA taking over the globally recognised Q Grader program from the CQI, there’s one question on everyone’s mind: what does the shift from the 2004 Cupping Form and connected standards to the Coffee Value Assessment (CVA) system really mean?
Join us at City Saints for an exclusive Q&A and information session led by Ben Bicknell of The Sensory Agenda — one of Australia’s most respected coffee professionals. As a Q Grader, Q Instructor, and lead on coffee trade projects, Ben has been a clear voice in shaping specialty coffee education and sensory training globally.
This is a rare opportunity to gain insight from someone who has been at the heart of the Q Grading ecosystem. How will the CVA's new framework reshape how quality is measured, cupping scores are communicated, and training is delivered? What is the future path for quality evaluators? How will this impact your coffee sourcing and communication? This session will tackle these topics and is essential for:
Q Graders (past and present)
Coffee educators and communicators
Roasters and green buyers
Anyone utilising sensory assessment and quality evaluation
We’ll unpack what’s changing, why it matters and what are the pathways forward for those wanting to gain or retain skills and certification — with plenty of time for open discussion and your questions.
