Queer Camp 2024 - SCROLLKEEP
Event description
Join us for a journey filled with laughter, chaos, and unexpected twists in SCROLLKEEP.
The story unfolds in a bustling tavern where an eclectic group of adventurers—Bea the mischievous rogue, Bennit the inventive artificer, Henry the time-traveling troublemaker, and Astrid the well-meaning cleric—are drawn into a quest of epic (and hilariously unpredictable) proportions. Will they triumph, or will their flaws lead to their downfall?
Come shape the adventure and discover the outcome in this interactive, fantasy comedy devised by The Fungi’s Squad as part GFT’s Queer Camp!
GFT’s Queer Youth Summer Camp is a tuition-free, devised performance centered program for LGBTQ+ youth ages 14 – 18 that focuses on building
connections, skills training and the arts as social justice advocacy. LGBTQ+ Austin teens will receive training and mentoring from professional local artists and educators to create an original performance that addresses the issues and challenges they face. It all culminates in a public performance Aug 3 at 7:30pm on the GFT stage the and that is what you are buying tickets for.
This page will be updated with more details as the students create the piece.
