Description

Queenslanders with Disability Network (QDN) is working this year to update our policy positions through engagement with members and peer leaders. The first area that we are going to look at is Employment. This is an online event for QDN members and will be followed up by additional online events across other portfolio areas.

QDN’s policy positions and systemic advocacy priorities are informed by what members tell us are important in their lives, communities and workplaces. This series of policy forums in 2026 are one mechanism for gathering member insights, identifying systemic barriers, and developing practical solutions that can be used to influence government, employers and the broader community. 

The policy statements will provide a short document that members can use in their engagement with key stakeholders to inform, connect, lead and influence change and will inform QDN’s broader systemic advocacy. The Employment Position Statement will appear on QDN’s website and will be a public document.

Queenslanders with Disability Network (QDN) is a state-wide not-for-profit organisation of, by, and for people with diverse disability. All our work is focused on disability rights and advocacy. QDN’s work is centred around a strong network of people across Queensland and almost 30 peer support groups which inform, connect, lead, and influence change.

We believe there should be ‘nothing about us without us’

We are a vibrant, active network of influencers, decision-makers, spokespeople, consultants, group members and peer leaders with a drive to make change happen. We also work on projects that align with our vision and mission around important issues in the lives of people with disability. We believe it’s important to work together with communities, services, business, industry and government to lead and influence change.
