Mental Health First Aid CourseÂ
Workplace Training | Fully Face-to-Face Delivered in QueenslandÂ
We are excited to announce that we are delivering fully face-to-face Mental Health First Aid Course in Queensland funded by the QGCBF grant and in collaboration with the Multicultural Community Connect Queensland (MCCQ) and Ethnic Communities Council Queensland (ECCQ).
This course is available to all multicultural community leaders and members who are currently living in Queensland.Â
Please note: This course is facilitated in-person at the venue - Multicultural Communities Connect Queensland Inc (MCCQ) - 391 Wickham Terrace, Spring Hill, QLD 4000.Â
Facilitated session details (after completion of prior eLearning):Â
Date: Wed 22nd January & Thu 23rd January 2025 (participants must attend both days)
Time: 9:30AM - 3:30PM AEST (Brisbane Time) on both daysÂ

Includes 30 minutes lunch break. Please organise your own lunch, otherwise there are cafes/restaurants nearby. Â
About the course:Â
The Standard MHFA course teaches adults (18 years and over) how to provide initial support to adults who are developing a mental illness or experiencing a mental health crisis, as well as learning the signs and symptoms of common and disabling mental health conditions, where and how to get professional help, what sort of support has been shown to be effective, and how to provide first aid in a mental health crisis.Â

Fully Face-to-Face Course Delivered in Queensland with two components:
Course Component 1 - Self-paced eLearning component (5-7 hours to complete). eLearning must be completed before attending facilitated session with instructor.Â
Course Component 2 – 2 x days 5.5-hours in-person workshop led by Licensed Mental Health First Aid instructor at the Multicultural Communities Connect Queensland Inc venue based at 391 Wickham Terrace, Spring Hill, QLD 4000.Â
After completing the course, you will be given a link to complete the Accreditation Assessment by Mental Health First Aid Australia. If you pass the assessment, you will receive a digital Certificate of Accreditation which lasts 3 years.Â
Course Fee: Please note that this course is fully funded as part of the Queensland Gambling Community Benefit Fund (GCBF) grant. Our normal course fee structure is $299 plus GST and booking fee per person.

IMPORTANT (please read carefully before booking):Â
- Please book using your personal email and mobile number - this is used to create your profile on Mental Health First Aid Australia's platform. Shared email accounts are not permitted. If, over time, you lose access to the email account you registered with (i.e. work email), you will also lose access to your Mental Health First Aid account.Â
- After your booking has been finalised, you will be contacted via email with further instructions to access your Mental Health First Aid account dashboard and eLearning modules.Â
- Please note, you MUST complete component 1 eLearning before you can attend the facilitated session.Â
- Session starts on time. Ensure to arrive 15 minutes earlier, allowing time to use the bathroom, get a drink, and settle in before the start of the session. Late-comers will be marked as absent and will have to rebook into a later course.Â
- Re-sitting fee applies if you miss your booked session, as numbers are limited, and you have made a booking. Â
- The instructor may postpone the course to a later date if the minimum number of participants required has not been met.Â
- Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.Â
