qldwater Emerging Contaminants Workshop
Event description
A follow on event to the inaugural qldwater Emerging Contaminants Workshop held in 2019, this event will showcase the work that has progressed over the past five years under the three themes:
- Science progressing understanding of emerging contaminants (microplastics, biosolids, trade waste)
- Emerging contaminants regulation and solutions (PFAS NEMP 3.0, IChEMS)
- Utilities' responses to emerging contaminants (thermal treatment, biochar)
This will be an in person event only.

Day 1: Thursday 21 November 2024
  Technical Tour 11am – 5 pm.Â
  Places for the tour are limited to 30.
  Pickup location Townsville City actual location TBC.
  All participants are required to wear long sleeves tucked into long pants and enclosed, flat shoes.
  High visibility vests, safety glasses and gloves will be provided as required, but please feel free to bring your own.

- Wilmar Sugar Pty Ltd – Pioneer Sugar Mill
  Workshop Dinner 6pm - 9pm
