Event description

Mathew Rolfe  has just released the new Ronny Quasar album Lyrebird [out now on City Trees Recordings]. There will be a launch at the Northern Arts Hotel 21 June at 7.30pm.

Lyrebird is inspired by the sound world of the Australian canopy. I have taken my cues from one of nature’s great mimics and explored the parallels between the Lyrebird’s musical displays and the art of sampling, music making, composition and sound collage.

Lyrebird was recorded at the Weatherboard Ship on the lands of the Dja Dja Wurrung People, in Castlemaine, Australia. We pay respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People and their Elders, past, present and emerging.
