Travel instructions
Car: The entrance to the venue is off Herston Road. There is free parking available at Victoria Park. Follow the driveway up and around to the right. The closest car park to the venue is the car park opposite the first building on the left. There is a drop off area out the front of the main function building. Public transport: For those travelling on public transport, Herston station (part of the northern busway) is a 5-minute walk from Victoria Park. When you exit the station turn left and follow the footpath.
Entry instructions
The event is in the Garden Marquee. This is the first small marquee on the left when following the driveway. There will be a sign at the front of the Garden Marquee for the conference. The pathway to the Garden Marquee is 88cm at the smallest point and 120cm at the widest point.
After entry instructions
A hearing loop is available for three tables at the front of the Garden Marquee. On arrival, please move as far into the room as possible so that the doorway free.
Hazards
There are some power points located around the room. If you need to plug in your device please ensure that cords do not run across the floor to reduce trip hazards.
Toilet location
Exit the Garden Marquee and follow the path towards the main building and through the automatic doors. All bathrooms, including accessible bathrooms, are located on the ground floor of the main building. The accessible bathroom has a manual door and small steep slope at the entrance. There is a grab rail on the left and space for transition on the right near the shower.
Accessible parking
There are two (2) accessible car parks at the front of the function building. An additional three (3) accessible car parks are located in the back car park. From the back car park to the Garden Marquee there is a sloped pathway. There is a map available on request.
Temperature Control
The room will be temperature controlled. If the room is too hot or cold, please approach a QAI staff member for assistance.
Live Captioning
Live captioning will be available in the Garden Marquee. The screen for live captioning will be positioned at the front of the room on the right-hand side of the presentation screen. There will be a link available to access live captioning on your personal device.
Breakout Space
There will be scheduled breaks roughly every two (2) hours. The outside deck can be used as a breakout space as well as courtyard on the way to the bathrooms. There are lots of green areas for assistance animals. Please note there is a small lip from the Garden Marquee onto the deck area.
COVID Measures
Masks are encouraged and will be available at the venue. Hand sanitizer will also be made available.
Catering
Meals are self-serve buffet style. If you have requested dietary requirements that are unable to be accommodated in the buffet, you will have a designated meal. This will either be on the table with your name or in the back. Please see a staff member or QAI staff member for assistance if required.
