Queensland Kendo Renmei - Women's Iaido and Jodo Seminar

The Active Women and Girls Sports Grants Program Queensland Government

The Queensland Government provided $25000 to Queensland Kendo Renmei to Active Women and Girls Program, to enable Queenslanders to participate in sport and recreation activities.’

The Australian Iaido and Jodo Boards acknowledge the collaboration of the Queensland Kendo Renmei and the Queensland Government Sports Grant in making this event possible. We encourage women and girls in our ranks to take advantage of this unique opportunity.

The Iaido and Jodo Boards are pleased to announce the support of two exceptional female instructors for the Queensland Kendo Renmei Women’s Seminar:

Takizawa Tomomi Sensei, Kyoshi 7 Dan Iaido

Takizawa Sensei began her Iaido journey in 2000 under the guidance of Ishidō Sensei. Promoted to 7 Dan in 2021, she received the Kyoshi title in 2023. Takizawa Sensei has had significant success in multiple tournaments across Japan.

Kozuka Risa Sensei, Renshi 7 Dan Jodo, Renshi 7 Dan Iaido             

Kozuka Sensei began Jodo in 2004 under Murakami Sensei and is one of the most accomplished women in the discipline. In 2007, she received an Excellence Award at the All Japan Jōdō Championships in the 3 Dan category. A few weeks after earning her 7 Dan, she secured 2nd place at the 2024 All Japan Jōdō Championships. Kozuka Sensei has also been an active Iaido practitioner since 2001 and represented Miyagi Prefecture at the 2023 All Japan Iaido Championships.

Seminar to run from the 7 June until the 10 June 2025.

June 7 and 8 are designated Women only and will held at the Tallebudgera Sports Centre 1525 Gold Coast Hwy, Palm Beach QLD 4221.

June 9 and 10 will be held in Brisbane at the following locations and all gender participation is invited.
