Queer Clay Club: Take a Picture, It'll Last Longer
Event description
TAKE A PICTURE IT'LL LAST LONGER
SUNDAY JUNE 15th
10:30am-1:30pm
The Scratch Bar Milton
You've been wanting a new little trinket, haven't you? Well, in this fun little workshop you can paint 2 (two!!) cute little photo-stands. Cheeky pics of the stands are at the bottom of the event description x have a sticky beak.
These stands will be handmade by us as a blank slate for you to paint onto. All paints and brushes will be provided.
WHEN: Sunday June 15th, 10:30am to 1:30pm
WHERE: The Scratch Bar Milton. 8/1 Park Road, Milton, QLD, 4064
Scratch will be closed to the public until 2pm so we can have our cosy queer painting session in private! They will have soft drinks, iced tea, mocktails, non-alcoholic beers, and their great range of alc. options available for purchase.
Scratch is very accessible by public transport and is about a 230m walk from Milton train station.
WHO: LGBTQIA+ folks, 18+ event.
COST: $38 + BF*
WHAT TO WEAR: Please wear clothes that you won't be devastated if they get paint on them! We don't have aprons or anything and can't take responsibility if you get paint on your clothes.
ACCESSIBILITY: There is one small step to access the venue. Scratch has a ramp they can pull out but have advised us that it is a steep ramp. Because the event is taking place at a bar area there is a variety of different seats at different heights including couches and stools. If you need a specific seating arrangement please let us know. We are constantly working to try and make our events more accesible.
Sensory information: there will be some music playing from a speaker (ambient music, not too loud), as well as talking. This is a venue that serves alcohol.
GENERAL NOTES:
We will be taking photos and videos on the day, so if you'd prefer to not be featured in anything, please let us know (either in person or via message). We'll keep you out of frame! The photo and videos taken will be used on our social media.
*BF = Booking Fee
Each stand is handmade by us right here in Meanjin, and as is the nature of all handmade items they will have some variation in size, shape etc! That's the fun of it!
(The stands in the pictures aren't quite finished yet, they're just there as an indicator of the shapes that will be available).
