Welcome to Wollongong Singles! Curated events run by Illawarra locals to bring people together through facilitated events in a relaxed and supportive environment. 

Get your single and poly friends together and join us for a facilitated event designed to bring together like-minded people in a relaxed and supportive environment! 

On Arrival

This is an afternoon mixer, running from 2pm to 5pm. Arrive any time from 2pm, but try to arrive on time so that you can make the most of the time - three hours goes by fast when you're having sparkling conversation!

Your ticket includes a drink on arrival - beer, wine, or non alcoholic options. There is also the option to purchase a VIP Drinks Package and get two $15 cocktails for just $20.

LGBTIQA+

This night is aimed at people who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community. We're welcoming of people who identify beyond the binary, people with diverse sexual orientations and relationship styles. Wear your pride if you feel comfortable doing so! 

This event is for all ages (over 18) and is not strictly for singles or just for people looking to find a date, but is for any queer person looking to make connections in their community.

1. The purpose of this event is to have fun! We encourage you to leave expectations of meeting your forever person at the door and instead focus on enjoying yourself and connecting with new people.
2. This is not speed dating - it's better than speed dating! Come ready to answer questions and be curious.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from your Singles Nights?

At a Mixer, there are no facilitated games or conversations. It's simply a space for people open to dating to some together. At our regular Singles Nights, we sit at tables with 4-6 people and play games together, then rotate around the room. If that sounds like your jam, check out our other events.  

Is this a speed dating event?

No! At the Mixer, there are no facilitated games or conversations, it's simply a space for people open to dating to come together. We will encourage participants to move around the room periodically so you can meet as many people as you'd like to organically, and we'll have games on hand if you'd like to sit down and play UNO or Jenga to help you get to know someone, but there's no pressure to participate.

Why is the queer mixer all ages? I want a queer event with a more defined age group.

Wollongong Singles is open to feedback and we're frequently tweaking our events to make them better. What we're hearing at the moment is that most people are more excited to be socialising with other queer folks than they are to be looking for a date. If we get enough feedback from the queer community to indicate that there is sufficient interest for us to run events for smaller age groups that are more focused on dating, we will absolutely do so. For now, it's come one come all!

What should I expect at the event?

Expect a warm welcome, a relaxed atmosphere, and local people interested in dating. 

Is there a dress code?

No strict dress code – just come as you are and feel comfortable. Feel free to dress as you might for a first date!

Where do you run these events?

All our events are run in Wollongong and the surrounding region.

What if I'm shy or nervous?

Our hosts are experienced in creating a supportive environment, and our events are designed to make everyone feel comfortable. You'll be in good hands! If you need to take a break at any time or leave early, you're welcome to do so.
