Quenda Quarters
Event description
Let’s give Quendas a new place to call home!
Join us for a workshop to construct ‘quenda quarters’, and play a part in protecting these fascinating marsupials.
Instruction, materials and LUNCH provided
Quendas are ecosystem engineers and play a role in improving soil health, promoting new plant growth and reducing leaf litter fire loads.
As a conservation-dependent species, installing ‘quenda quarters’ will offer refuge for local quendas from predators such as foxes and cats.
We will also learn about the unique Carnaby Cockatoo and the important habitat restoration work underway to support their conservation. Gain valuable insights on how you can contribute to the survival of these beautiful birds.
Brought to you by Perth NRM and the City of Swan, with funding support from the West Australian Government’s State NRM Program; and the Australian Government Natural Heritage Trust under the ‘Building Resilient Landscapes in the Swan Region’, Carnaby’s Cockatoo project delivered by Perth NRM Inc., a member of the Commonwealth Regional Delivery Partners panel.
