Event description

Is there such a thing as an Unsustainable Clothes Swap?

This is the topic de jour when Ali Dibley and Jo Gambale record an episode of their much-loved Questioning Fashion podcast, along with Q&A in front of a live audience at the Green Living Centre.

In the lead up to GLC’s next clothes swap, Ali and Jo discuss the potential issues of what should be a sustainable solution. After hosting public versions for various councils, they found some participants using clothes swaps as ‘dumps’, as many do with op shop donations.

Along with a special guest Theresa Winters, clothes swapping “pro” and advocate, Ali and Jo look at ways we can be more mindful when it comes to swaps and - even beyond that - their default ‘Retail Therapy’ behaviour. With a tagline: ‘fashion is more than just shopping,’ Ali and Jo use their podcast and workshops to shift focus from consumption to creativity.

Join us, bring your friends and enjoy a free drink and nibbles on arrival and an open Q&A after the panel discussion.
