Quiet Afternoon: Ivan Foo

Stillness is rare, and precious, and difficult to enter into. Ivan will offer a programme of readings, including poems by W. H. Davies, Kabir, David Whyte, Wendell Berry, WB Yeats, and Antonio Macho, with prose from Trappist Monk and theologian Thomas Merton, and Catholic priest and Benedictine Monk John Main to lead us into the silence. The word will be interspersed with French baroque music played on the Baroque flute to create an atmosphere of stillness, peace and open expectation.

Please join us for an afternoon of reflective music, calm, and silence, as we together take time to enter into the stillness and be at peace in the world.

Ivan Foo is a clavichordist, fortepianist and Baroque flautist. In his professional life he is a consultant for the United Nations, conducting internal and forensic audits and fraud investigations.
