Description

Join us for a fun morning full of great teachers giving lessons and prompts for quilters of any level, while contributing to a great cause. Long-time quilt artist Joe Cunningham will lead a team of quilt artists who will inspire you to new projects and new ways of seeing your old ones. With presentations from some of the greatest quilters of our time, an interview about Joe the Quilter (1750-1826) with Tracy Chevalier, a visit to the cottage with Kate Jackson of The Last Homely House and a whole smashing list of quilt artist/teachers, it will be a day to remember. $30, a great value for your entertainment dollar!

Joe Cunningham:

"When I learned that the thatched roof had failed on my namesake's cottage at the Beamish Museum and the museum did not have the funds to repair it, I decided to raise the funds myself. For quilters worldwide, this is the only quilter's house from the early 1800's to be so perfectly preserved, where we can see how Old Joe the Quilter lived and worked. I want to have the roof repaired so it can be reopened in 2027."

100% of ticket sales will go toward the the thatched roof for the reopening of Joe the Quilter's Cottage at Beamish--The Living Museum of the North, near Newcastle, England.
