Quilt Freedom Workshop 58: Community Connections

In this QFW we will be looking at some new quilts in the International Quilt Museum and my latest creation, but also having a conversation with my friend Renee DeCarlo, an artist and entrepreneur here in San Francisco. Renee founded a gallery and program called The Drawing Room which has had a number of great shows--some open to all entries, some beautifully curated--often brilliant shows featuring local artists whose work usually has trouble finding a home in a commercial gallery. A tireless champion of education, she regularly sponsors programs for high schoolers and shows their work. Renee wants to strengthen community ties, to make the world a better place. Her own art is terrific, and we will be able to see a bunch of it. She is always great to visit, and I am really looking forward to our conversation.
