Quilt Freedom Workshop 46: Needlework in the War Zone

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

My friend Anastasiia Podervianska lives in Kyiv and ashows her work all over Europe, in the US and in Ukraine. Employing embroidery, applique, quilting, found textiles and more, Anastasiia uses imagery from mythology, folklore and popular culture to create works that address themes of love, war and the human experience like no one else. In this special edition of the Quilt Freedom Workshop we will have a conversation with Anastasiia in her studio in Kyiv. We'll have a chance to see some of her work close up, to see how she uses found textiles and how she creates images on high fashion clothing. Having grown up in a family of artists she speaks the universal language of art with extraordinary fluency, speaking her mind about the war, about needlework and about life. Join me for a look at an artist's life in a country at war. As usual, this event will be recorded  and all ticket holders will receive the link to the recording to watch at their convenience.
