Event description

Black Cat Theatre presents Quinlyn Can Paint by Zach Barr, co-directed by Jared Sheldon and Cee Scallen.

About the show:

On the eve of the first solo museum exhibition for abstract painter Olive Hollyhox, a documentary crew interviews her about her life and work. Also being interviewed are Olive's older sisters, Quinlyn and Gabby. It turns out Quinlyn is also a painter. Not that anyone cared. Through monologues, tensions arise and begin to fray the sisters' relationships – and unspoken jealousies come out.

Performances take place at The Edge Off Broadway August 15-31st. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday shows at 7:30pm; Sunday shows at 2:30pm.

About the prices:

Financial transparency is one of Black Cat Theatre's core pillars. We believe that audiences and involved artists alike deserve to know where their money is going and how prices are set to illuminate just how costs work in storefront theatre. We arrived at our ticket prices as follows:

Access Ticket: $15

We also strongly believe that theatre should be accessible. We will always have an access tier of tickets available, currently set at $15.

True-Cost Ticket: $27

We set our true-cost ticket price by taking our total budget ($11,605) divided by the total amount of seats (40) over 11 shows: 11,605/440 = 26.375, rounded up for ease of sale.

Sponsor Ticket: $39

This tier of tickets is set by adding the cost difference between true-cost and access tickets (27-15 = 12) to the cost of a true-cost ticket (27+12 = 39).
