Quintessence

Quintessence is a student-led jazz quintet based in Seattle, featuring alumni and students from Roosevelt, Bothell, Garfield, and Lake Washington high schools.

Members include Tim Park on trumpet, Max Wilson on saxophone, Jonathan Yang on piano, Theo McGaughey on bass, and Reuben Greenspun on drums.

Named in the memory of Garfield alum and maestro Quincy Jones, Quintessence strives to maintain the spirit of jazz tradition and excellence in the greater Seattle area. Sharing joy through our playing and being connected to the local community is a prime focus of the group, and we hope our audiences enjoy the music as much as we do!
