Quirky Bird Portrait (Sculpture)
Event description
Create a quirky portrait using recycled and found objects. You will consider the colours and textures of each object and how they can help develop your portrait.
A foam block, styrene/card ball, and stick will be supplied. There will also be a variety of plastic bits and collected items that will be available for your use. You could also bring items that you wish to include such as old jewellery or broken toys. Think junk drawer stuff.
The first step is to put together the basic form using appropriate glues and then paint this if you wish. After that, it is 'playing with objects 'til you find your character. You might find colour is important or it may be that you focus more on the textures you are creating.
The artist will advise as necessary and suggest the best fixing processes. As a trained and experienced teacher, Beth Harcourt is able to support you as needed while allowing you total control of the outcome.
The artwork you make will be an original work reflecting your ideas.
