CEO and President, Cochlear Ltd
As the leader of Cochlear, a $17 billion ASX-listed global powerhouse in hearing technology, CEO and President Dig Howitt has overseen the company’s expansion into more than 180 countries, driving advancements that have transformed hundreds of thousands of lives around the world.
With a background in engineering and global operations, Dig joined Cochlear in 2000 holding key roles in manufacturing, product development, and international markets before being appointed CEO and President in 2018.
At this Forum, Dig will join renowned journalist Ellen Fanning for a discussion on the challenges he has faced scaling Cochlear’s operations on the global stage, sharing his experiences of leading through adversity— from raising awareness of the effectiveness of hearing implants, to navigating complex regulatory environments.
Dig will also discuss Cochlear’s approach to research and development including integrating AI into their products and operations, exploring how the technology is improving hearing solutions and improving patient outcomes through personalised care.
Prior to Cochlear, Dig worked for the Boston Consulting Group and held general management positions in Boral and Sunstate Cement. Dig is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers Australia.
