QUT Entrepreneurship: Side Hustle Online
Event description
Program Overview
The Side Hustle ONLINE program aims to equip QUT Alumni and Students living in regional areas or overseas with the skills necessary to start their own Side Hustle, be that a venture, social enterprise, or intrapreneurial project. The program would be fully sponsored by QUT Entrepreneurship for QUT students, staff, or alumni living outside of Brisbane, and will cost $497 AUD for non-QUT participants.
When
The program runs over 8 weeks on Thursdays, from 4pm to 6pm Brisbane time, and facilitated through Zoom. Link supplied prior to program commencement.
Side Hustle ONLINE runs weekly from Thursday, 25 September to Thursday, 13 November, with an online pitch event to be held on Thursday 20 November.
Program dates and topics are as follows:
25 September, Week 1 - Problems matter
2 October, Week 2 - Defining the problem
9 October, Week 3 - Defining who experiences the problem
16 October, Week 4 - Exploring mechanisms for addressing the problem
23 October, Week 5 - Defining the solution
30 October, Week 6 - Is it worth doing?
6 November, Week 7 - How to make it happen
13 November, Week 8 - Pitching to launch
20 November, Online Pitch Event
Program costs
The program would be sponsored by QUT Entrepreneurship for all QUT students, staff, and alumni.
Non-QUT participants to pay $497 AUD through QUTPay!
Program Expectations
· That you attend all/most of the sessions (we realise that life gets in the way, but this is not a drop-in/drop-out flexible program).
· You turn your cameras on and engage during the sessions. Sessions will be run as workshops with breakout rooms and an expectation that you share your work with your peers.
· You do the weekly homework and reflection activities to the best of your ability – this will give you the best outcomes from the program.
· You do the pre-course work (we’ll give you access to the Canvas site before we start).
· You come along to pitch at the Online Pitch Event.
What you’ll get
· 8 weeks of content (as described above)
· A downloadable workbook with all the worksheets used in the program (the playbook for your idea).
· Access to our Canvas platform to access the weekly content and engage with your peers
· A certificate upon completion of the course (you need to attend at least 6 out of the 8 sessions to receive).
· Networking opportunities with your peers.
· Access to mentoring opportunities with QUT Entrepreneurship.
