QUT Business Leaders' Forum with Steve Johnston, Suncorp Group
Event description
Steve Johnston was appointed Suncorp Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director in September 2019. Steve has been instrumental in leading the ASX listed company through a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
Joining Suncorp in 2006, Steve has held various senior positions during his tenure at the company, including Group CFO, Deputy CFO and Executive General Manager Investor Relations and Corporate Affairs. In these positions, he played a key role in the strategic and financial management of the Group including Suncorp’s rebuild following the global financial crisis.
Prior to joining Suncorp, Steve held senior positions at Telstra and the Queensland Government.
A QUT Alumnus, Steve will share his personal leadership journey, from his early days in Brisbane to leading a banking and insurance company through Australia’s devastating bushfires and a global pandemic. He will discuss the role of Government and business in a post pandemic Australia.
