Drawing on a lifetime of field experience—from ferreting, long-netting, and gassing to burrow ripping and large-scale culls—Dave breaks down the essentials of rabbit movement, lifecycles, and effective containment.
What We’ll Cover & Demonstrate:
Rabbit Ecology: Understanding movement patterns, breeding cycles, and harbour areas to target them effectively.
Control Equipment Showcase: Hands-on look at rabbit gassing machines, cage traps, long nets, legal trap options, ferret tracking collars (and possibly a live ferret!), and handheld thermal imaging optics.
Methods & Strategies: Insights into traditional and modern control techniques, including ferreting, net setup, gassing, burrow destruction, and legal containment strategies where shooting isn't an option.
