Racism in Schools Strategic Conversation Series: Examining Racism in Schools
Event description
The Darling Downs African Communities Council (DDACC), Ethnic Communities Council Queensland (ECCQ), and Welcoming Cities Australia are co-presenting the first in a series of conversations about racism in schools, and the impact this has on students, families and communities.
This important conversation is focused on building robust, place-based solutions to address racism in schools in the Toowoomba region. The first session will feature John Bosco Ngendakurio presenting the key findings of his research into racism in Australian schools and recommendations on how to reduce racism and/or mitigate its impact. A facilitated discussion will follow, involving parents, educators, politicians, and community members, fostering a collective understanding of the issue.
This event is supported by Mercy Community, Multicultural Australia, QPASTT, UniSQ, Expand Your Library and Value Learning.
