ABOUT THE FILM

RADICAL LOVE (1 hr 19 mins) is an inspiring documentary film about life and philosophy of Satish Kumar. It is a film about love and forgiveness, about activism, optimism and hope.

The film narrates the story of Satish becoming a monk and an activist in the Land Gift movement before going on a peace pilgrimage around the world. The film also tells the story of Schumacher College and Satish’s friendship with global food systems and seed-saving icon, Vandana Shiva.

Satish is a dear friend and mentor of Morag. They met in 1992 at the iconic eco-university, Schumacher College he started in Devon and have stayed in touch ever since.

Satish has been inspiring global change for nearly 70 years as an educator-activist. He is the Emeritus Editor of Resurgence Magazine which he led for many decades and has authored many books. He is well known for his 8,000-mile walk for peace.

The documentary Radical Love portrays his impressive journey, presenting a collection of vivid projections of what can be accomplished when our presence in the world is filled with the powers of simplicity, collaboration and love and is set between his home in the south of England and an experience returning to India.
