Rainbow Ride is back with a Rainbow Rave!

Get your blood pumping, your wheels turning and your sparkle on this Biketober, with the teams behind Rainbow Ride and BIKE RAVE!

Join us for a joyful mid-spring morning ride into the Red Zone for a mini Rainbow Rave. It’s a celebration of cycling, community and all things rainbow — and everyone’s invited!

We’ll set off at 11am, ride, rave and soak up some groovy vibes before hopping back on our bikes and ending at the Richmond Community Garden Spring Fair to reconnect with our Ōtautahi whānau. We will release route details closer to the time.

Rainbow riders, allies and whānau of all ages are welcome. Costumes and decorated bikes are highly encouraged! Go as rainbowy, fabulous or delightfully ridiculous as you like — just please keep it eco-conscious and avoid glitter or any other accessories/material that could become MOOP (Matter Out Of Place).

The ride and rave are completely free, but registration is requested so we know who’s coming along.

Cargo Bike Demo Stall

Stick around after the ride and check out the Cargo Bike Demo Stall, happening from 12:30–2pm at the Richmond Community Garden Spring Fair.

Huihui Bike Labs and Action Bicycle Club will be showcasing a range of cargo bikes and tricycles, with demonstrations, speakers and plenty of opportunities to discover how these practical, eco-friendly bikes can help make everyday life on two (or three!) wheels a little easier.

Come for the ride. Stay for the rave. Explore the cargo bikes. Bring the rainbow 🌈
