La Toya has been weaving since 2016, beginning her practice as a way to reconnect with Aboriginal culture after the loss of her nan. Weaving is an integral part of her family’s history, with her great-great-grandfather being a master weaver renowned for creating cane furniture, and other close family members also practicing the craft. Through her dedication to weaving, La Toya has deepened her connection to her cultural heritage and is proud to share this important aspect of her identity with others.
