RAISING CAPITAL SERIES: Part 2 – Due Diligence and Investment Documentation Readiness
Description
An investor is interested. Do you know what they'll ask for next? This online session will help you get ready.
This is often where a raise slows down or falls over. An investor asks for documents that aren't ready, or finds a problem nobody spotted early. Most of these problems can be fixed if you know about them before you start talking to investors.
Join us for this FREE 1-hour webinar, hosted by Peter Ramsay, Network Manager, Mainland Angel Investors and Wayne Hudson, Director, whIPit Limited & Flying Kiwi Angels Associate, who will take you through what investors check, what to have ready, and how the deal gets put on paper.
What will you learn:
Being due diligence ready: what investors look at, and how to set up your due diligence folder
The Information Memorandum: what goes in it, from your product and market to your financials and the offer
Legal gaps that stall a deal: shareholder agreements, your constitution, and IP that was never properly moved into the company
Suppliers and contractors: making sure you own the work you've paid others to do
Financials and valuation: burn rate, runway, realistic forecasts, and how to back up the value you put on your business
You and your team: why investors back the people as much as the idea
Term sheets: what they are, what's usually in them, and what happens after you sign one
Join via Zoom and listen to a practical talk from two people who work with investors every week. There's time for your questions at the end. There's no pitching, and you won't be put on the spot. You don't need to have come to Part 1 to join.
