Rakali webinar - Boroondara City Nature Challenge
Event description
Join City of Boroondara as we compete in the 2025 City Nature Challenge. You'll be helping to put Boroondara's flora and fauna on the world map, whilst contributing to important citizen science data collection. The challenge runs for 4 days only: Friday 25th - Monday 28th April 2025.
We invite you to join us for an online evening to learn about rakali (also known as the Australian water-rat) with Geoff from the Australian Platypus Conservancy. Rakali are a native species in Boroondara, and we are lucky to share our home with this amazing animal!
The talk will outline the biology and key conservation requirements of rakali and include tips on how to go about spotting this fascinating aquatic mammal in local waterways.
This talk will be aimed at adults, and will be delivered via the online platform Zoom.Â
We encourage you to download the free iNaturalist app prior to the event, however this is not essential to attend the session.
Together, let's learn about the incredible biodiversity that Boroondara has to offer!
