Ramadan Writing & Science Workshop

🌙 Ramadan Poetry, Writing & Science Workshop for Home-schooled Students🌙  

Bring your child to an enriching Ramadan experience that combines creativity, science, and Quranic understanding. This interactive workshop is tailored for both primary and high school students, inspiring them to explore their creativity and deepen their connection to the Quran.  

There will be two workshops running at the same time. Each designed to cater for different age Groups. ES1 and Stage 1 will be instructed by Sabilla from 'A Touch of Faith'. Stages 2-5 will be instructed by Marina Haidar from 'Quranic Connections' and Ali Al-Haj (AKA - The Poetic Ninja).

⏰ Time: 10:00 AM - 1:30 PM (sharp start)  

📍 Location: Carnes Hill Community Centre

ES1 and Stage 1 

✨ Ramadan Story: Hamza and Alia share the Ramadan Cheer.

🖋️ Writing: Each child will receive a complimentary A Touch of Faith Ramadan Activity Book. 

🌌 Arts and Craft Science Workshop: Students will participate in moon crafts, discussing moon phases in relation to Ramadan and Islamic months.

Stage 2-5 

✨ Ramadan Poetry: A thought-provoking poem by Ali, an award-winning poet also known as The Poetic Ninja, exploring themes of culture and identity to spark reflection and discussion.  

🖋️ Writing Workshop: Led by Marina, an experienced educator, students will engage in creative stations exploring self-expression through writing, guided by Quranic verses.  

🌌 Science Workshop: Students will participate in a hands-on moon phases experiment, uncovering the beauty of the lunar calendar with Quranic insights.  

Schedule:

10:00 AM: Introduction – ES1/S1 break off to their designated space

10:15 AM:
- S2-5: Ali’s Poem (Culture & Identity)
- ES1/S1: Ramadan Story read by Sabilla

10:30 AM: Writing Workshop Stations:
- S2-5: With Marina
- ES1/S1: With Sabilla

11:30 AM: Lunch Break for All

12:00 PM: Science Workshop:
- S2-5: Moon Phases + Quranic Reflection with Marina
- ES1/S1: Moon Craft with Sabilla

1:00 PM: Reflection & Wrap-Up

1:15 PM: Salat
