Join us for a hike that combines history and stunning views: the Van Slyke Castle Ruins Hike. You’ll start on tranquil forest trails that gradually lead to the eerie yet captivating Van Slyke Castle ruins. Once a grand estate, the crumbling walls now stand as a haunting reminder of the past, making it a perfect spot for exploration and photography. After soaking in the castle's history, continue to the ridge for panoramic views of Ramapo Lake and the surrounding mountains, giving you plenty of awe-inspiring moments. This hike has a bit of everything—from peaceful wooded paths to rugged sections—ideal for those seeking an adventurous trek with a historical twist.

Bring your hiking shoes or sturdy sneakers (you’ll need them), pack water and a sandwich, invite some friends (or come solo), and get ready to enjoy the outdoors. We’ll start the day at The Standard Biergarten in Chelsea. After the hike, we'll make a stop for food and drinks before heading back to NYC.

EVENT DETAILS:

• 10:00 AM – Meet at The Standard Biergarten
• 10:30 AM – Depart
• 11:45 PM – Arrive at hike entrance
• 2:00 PM – Snack break on the trail
• 3:00 PM – Conclude hike head to food and drinks
• 5:30 PM - Depart back to NYC
