8week Youth program

This 8 week youth program is open to anybody, boys and girls aged 11 - 17, Limited 20 spaces. Over the 8 weeks they will learn about self confidence, self awareness, self belonging and culture.
Our youth will be learning through a model called Te Whare Tapawha (the four cornerstones or sides of Māori health and well-being. Encompassing
tinana (body) physical well-being, hinengaro (mind) mental and emotional well-being and self confidence,
whānau (family) social well-being, self esteem and relationships
wairua (spirit) spiritual well-being, life force, who you are, where you have come from and where you are going.
We will be covering these aspects by combining breathwork which will help our youth self regulate, self calm and gain self confidence through simple breath techniques and tools to use daily.
Learning the fundamentals of Mau Rākau, gaining self discipline and confidence, through bodywork and ancient Māori Rākau (stick) movement, foot work and hand- eye coordination. Taught by an experienced kaiako (teacher)
Through haka we will channel our inner warrior energy and embrace that energy in our daily life.
We will also be journaling, pur value systems, our emotions and thoughts, vision and goals to encourage self growth.
