    Event description

    • Are you passionate about the region and want to play a part in shaping its future?
    • Are you curious about what changes, disruptions and opportunities the region may be faced with in years to come?
    • Would you love to connect with other people who are just as enthusiastic about building an even better region for future generations?
    • Or would you like to explore opportunities about how you can be involved in building economic, social and environmental resilience across the region?

    Community leaders, businesses and other regional representatives are invited to join the Rankins Springs Resilient Futures Workshop to help set the agenda for positive change and development of the region over the next 10 years.

    Building on the picture of the community and region painted by community members in the first half of 2024, the workshop will:

    • Identify a set of directions for a resilient and thriving future;
    • Explore and outline actions that councils, businesses, industries and communities can take over the next decade to strengthen the local economy, build community resilience and drive positive environmental outcomes.

    The Workshop is a great opportunity to connect and network with others, hear from several guest speakers and experts, as well as actively participate in facilitated workshop activities and discussions.

    The Workshop will directly inform the development of the Resilient Economy Roadmap, an initiative between the Hay and Carrathool Shires to be delivered in 2024.  The Resilient Economy Roadmap is for the future of OUR region - so we need YOU to get involved and share your thoughts, ideas and knowledge!

    Participation and catering is free - however, registration is essential. We hope to see you there!

    About the Resilient Economy Roadmap:

    The Resilient Economy Roadmap for Hay and Carrathool Shires is a 10-year roadmap that will outline practical actions councils, businesses, industries and communities can take to diversify the economy and build economic, social, cultural and environmental resilience.

    The Resilient Economy Roadmap is delivered in partnership with The Next Economy, The Australian Resilience Centre and communities across our region. It will be developed in 2024 in collaboration with community, industry and government members as part of the Regional Drought Resilience Planning Program, jointly funded by the Australian Government and NSW Government under the Future Drought Fund.
