RAP Circle & Member Forum - April 2025
Event description
You are invited to join Reconciliation Tasmania's online RAP Circle and Member Forum on Wednesday 30 April from 2-3pm.
The purpose of RAP Circles is to provide a forum for our members and RAP partners to share successes, learnings and challenges. Reconciliation Tasmania (RT) will also provide general advice about commonly asked questions, or topics nominated by the group.
We are delighted to announce special guest presenters, Marnie Ritz-Maynard and Lee Archer from the Land & Sea Aboriginal Corporation of Tasmania.
The Land & Sea Aboriginal Corporation of Tasmania (LSACT)’s purpose is to “build cultural and economic prosperity for Tasmanian Aboriginal people across fisheries and Sea Country-related industries for the benefit of communities and future generations.”
LSACT recently secured a long-term lease and buy back arrangement of 40 abalone units at Musselroe Bay in the state's far north-east (read more here).
LSACT operates Tasmanian Aboriginal Seafoods, which employs Tasmanian Aboriginal people to fish for, process and sell culturally fished abalone, and runs an Aboriginal employment program called Wave to Plate.
Marnie and Lee will speak about:
• The story of LSACT and Tasmanian Aboriginal Seafoods,
• Opportunities for Reconciliation Tasmania members and RAP partners to support LSACT, including by joining the Wave to Plate program as Industry Partners, and
• How your organisation can purchase Tasmanian Aboriginal Seafoods products
This online forum is available free of charge to all:
• Organisational members, whether or not you have a Reconciliation Action Plan;
• Current Reconciliation Tasmania RAP clients; and
• Previous Reconciliation Tasmania RAP clients.
In the meantime, if you have any questions about RT’s RAP services, please contact Alison Merridew (she/her), Reconciliation Action Plans Manager: alison@rectas.com.au or 0425 163 440.
