Description

Have you ever watched a bird soaring overhead and wondered what it was? From the impressive Wedge-tailed Eagle riding the thermals to the hovering Black-shouldered Kite or the agile Nankeen Kestrel searching for prey, the Hills and Fleurieu are home to an incredible diversity of birds of prey.

Join local bird expert John Gitsham for an evening exploring the fascinating lives of South Australia's raptors. Learn how to identify some of our local species, discover the unique adaptations that make them such successful hunters, and gain a greater appreciation for the important role they play in healthy ecosystems.

John has spent decades observing and photographing birds across South Australia and is well known for sharing his passion and knowledge with the community. His engaging presentations combine fascinating stories, beautiful images and practical tips that will have you looking to the skies on your next bushwalk or drive through the countryside.

This presentation is a wonderful opportunity to deepen your connection with nature and discover the remarkable raptors living right on our doorstep.

This session is hosted by the Mount Barker Community Library and seeded by Green Adelaide.
