RARE ORCHID SEARCH WITH ORCHID CONSERVATIONIST JULIE RADFORD
Event description
Rare orchid search day with orchid conservationist Julie Radford, looking for 3 rare Spider orchids that can be found locally, there is no guarantee that these species are in the area we are searching but there is always hope of finding a new population.
We are searching for the Mandurang Spider orchid, The Castlemaine Spider orchid and the McIvor Spider orchid.
Details of the meeting place will be sent to people following registration for the event.
We will meet at 12.00 at the designated meeting point, enjoy lunch together while we learn from Julie about the orchids we are searching for. Following lunch we will have gentle, meandering walk as we search for these rare orchids which will commence at 1.00, finishing at 3.00.
BYO lunch and water bottle (some snacks / biscuits or cake will also be available on the day).
Please wear suitable footwear and clothing and a hat that are suitable for a walk in the bush.
Location: Pilchers Bridge Nature Conservation Reserve (near Myrtle Creek)
