Duration: 3 hours, Moderate half-day ride

Join us for an exciting ride at Rathdowney, followed by a relaxing pub lunch at the Rathdowney Hotel.

Details:

  • Food: Please bring your own morning tea and human drinking water for the trail. We’ll enjoy a pub lunch at The Rathy Pub afterward.
  • Bring Your Own: Halter & lead rope for tying up on the trail. Horse water is available, but bring your own bucket. Shared yards are available, but consider bringing your own electric yards if you prefer.
  • Terrain: The trail has minimal shade and can be steep and rocky in parts, so boots or shoes are recommended.
  • Parking: Ample parking available. If coming from Brisbane, turn left immediately after the information centre/showgrounds at the sign for ‘Rathdowney House’. Follow the driveway up, turn left at the hay shed, and park in the large field next to the cattle yards.

Camping:
For those wanting to extend the fun, camping is available at the Rathdowney Memorial Grounds. Book your spot independently via Hipcamp: Rathdowney Memorial Grounds - Hipcamp in Rathdowney, Queensland.

Ribbons:

  • Green: New, nervous, or unsure horses
  • Red: Horses that may kick

Ride Fees:

  • Red Rivers Members: No charge
  • ATHRA Affiliated Members: $5.00

Important: This ride is for ATHRA club members only. All attendees must book via Humantix. (No book, no ride)
