Good things to know

• What does this actually involve?

  Live Action Role Play (LARP) in Aotearoa New Zealand often involves a combination of in-character role playing in 'scenes'.

  As a player you will act in character, reacting to other players and plot presented by the Game Masters (GMs).

  As a crew member you will play a variety of different roles with other players and crew members to progress the narrative as set out by the GM team.

  Combat scenes can involve 1:1 or large scale battles with boffer style foam weapons like swords, axes, and polearms. If you're new to LARP you will get a combat crash course at the game.

• How accessible is this event?

  The campground does have some uneven terrain but is friendly to mobility needs with access ramps and lighting.

  Most of the attendees and organisers are somewhere on the neurodiversity spectrum.

  If you need to take a break, take a break. Your wellbeing is top priority and things that need you won't happen without you.

• Is this beginner friendly?

  Ravnica LARP has a good amount of seasoned and newer LARPers across the players, crew, and GM team. While the rules may seem overwhelming if you're unfamiliar with role-playing games, there is plenty of support to help you.
