Making Waves Foundation –
Creating Empowering Sailing Programs
Making Waves Foundation is an Australian registered not-for-profit charitable organisation that provide unique on-water experiences for young people with disability or experiencing disadvantage.
A little bit about James Hunter in his own words …
“Since losing my eyesight in 2015 I have thrown my heart and soul into helping Making Waves realise its vision of a kinder and more inclusive Australia by empowering and supporting those children and teenagers confronting challenges to lean in and have a go”.
In 2024 James stepped onboard ‘Kayle’ for his 2nd Rolex Sydney to Hobart Yacht race, with the following hope “to encourage our program participants at all our departure points along the east coast of Australia face their own challenges and strive for what might be possible with positivity, optimism, and supportive people around them”.
Come and listen to James talk about his own life challenges as well as talk about the efforts of the Making Waves Foundation in enabling more children to work through their challenges through the wonders of nature and the gift of sailing.
