Motivation statements are often needed for the admission and scholarship applications and we can help you tailor yours to reflect what you are seeking from tertiary education and career pathways.

Learn from Jude Little (Manager, Student Support and Engagement) and Asma Mohammad Rahim (International Student Engagement Officer)ย from Monash University, who have 20+ years of experience of supporting students to apply for and engage in university study. Asma is also a recent graduate from Monash and can tell you more about the application and transition process as a student from a refugee background.

About our presenters:
Judith (Jude) Little is an experienced tertiary education professional staff member who is committed to enhancing the student experience. She specialises in student transition and support, providing case management, advocacy and advice to help students make informed decisions regarding their education. Her aim is to create a welcoming and supportive environment for students that promotes equity, retention and success. Jude has a deep understanding of diverse student populations working with students from domestic, international and refugee backgrounds.
Asma Mohammad Rahim is a passionate advocate, international student officer, and inspiring speaker with invaluable lived experience as a refugee. She's dedicated to empowering students through comprehensive case management, advocacy, and advice, helping them make informed decisions regarding their education. Asma guides students to understand their rights and drive positive change within their communities. Her expertise in student policy and support underpins her inclusive work, through which she highlights the challenges refugees face and illuminates pathways to inclusion. She has also previously assisted refugees from Afghanistan and Ukraine to settle in the community as a career coach.
