Reading Group in Psychoanalysis

NZIPP is pleased to confirm the start of a Reading Group on Psychoanalysis. The group will run for two hours on Friday at 6:30 PM monthly, for a total of six sessions per semester. NZIPP will have a member available each semester to facilitate the reading group and discussion. Dr Gustavo Restivo is available to run the first semester.

The dates for 2024 will be: 9th August, 6th September, 4th October, 1st November, 29th November, 13th December.

The venue is Psykhe Psychoanalytic Practice, 233 Mt Eden Rd. Online attendance can be considered for those residing outside Auckland.

The fee is $250 per person for 6 sessions over one semester.

The readings for this semester are based on Freud's work, as follows:
1909 Five Lectures on Psycho-analysis, SE Vol 11 1909 Family Romances, SE Vol 9
1913 On Beginning the Treatment, SE Vol 12
1915 Observations on Transference-Love,  SE Vol 12
1917 Mourning and Melancholia,  SE Vol 14

Further readings may be recommended during the group course.
Participants will be professionals interested in psychoanalysis with some prior knowledge/training in the field.
Number of participants: 8 - 12.
