readtreat - October 2020
Event description
Most people I know would love to read more. But with life and everything that comes with it, making that time happen, often doesn't.
I've spent the last 21 months doing the reading so you don't have to on the Steph's Business Bookshelf podcast, and now I want to not just bring the ideas from the best non-fiction books to you, but also help you find the space to read them.
So here's how [ r e a d t r e a t ] works...
DO THIS BIT RIGHT NOW
- book a spot (below)
- put it in your diary (there's a handy option to add it to your calendar when you book)
You'll receive a link to the online reading room one day before the session.
ON THE DAY
- make sure you're in a comfortable spot (tea and snacks are strongly encouraged)
- log into our Zoom library (witty & punny name for this space to be decided)
- turn up with your latest reading material (fiction, non-fiction, magazine... it's up to you)
- say a quick hi to your fellow bookworms
- enjoy an uninterrupted hour dedicated to reading
That's it.
If you've got small people, big people or animals who would like to enjoy this communal reading space with you, they are very welcome.
A little note on the ticket options
The last couple of months have been rough. Please use the 'pay as you wish' ticket option if this allows you to attend and enjoy the sanctuary of books. This option also won't charge any fees.
Humanitix are a pretty great bunch and their profits go to education projects. The profit on the 'fees' part of your ticket from this event will go towards scholarships for Indigenous students. Those in regional, rural and remote communities in particular have to contend with geographic barriers, with only 24% of Indigenous students having access to a school that offers study to Year 12. This project provides scholarships to close the gap for indigenous students.
Tickets for good, not greed Humanitix dedicates 100% of profits from booking fees to charity
