Now in its thirteenth year, Ready Set Design is a full day workshop for year 11 & 12 secondary students who are interested in building a career in the design industry. Split into two parts - 'Design Bytes' and 'Folio Bytes' - Ready Set Design will enable you to learn about careers and tertiary programs in design and develop your folio.

GETTING TO RMIT UNIVERSITY

Arriving by train: Melbourne Central Railway Station is only a minute away from RMIT University.
Arriving by tram:
 Take the Swanston Street tram and exit when you reach RMIT University.
Enter the campus at Building 80, go to Level 1 and Room 2 (Next to The Oxford Scholar Hotel)

WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE DAY

Part 1: Design Bytes

Design Bytes gives you the opportunity to hear from design professionals from different design fields reveal some of the ways that design can shape the world around us. 

Part 2: Folio Bytes

Folio Bytes is a hands-on workshop exploring your chosen design field. All workshops are run by RMIT design teachers including the option to explore:

  • Fashion illustration
  • Graphic design
  • Building design/architecture
  • Storyboarding for animation
  • Drawing for design 

REQUIRED - CONSENT FORMS

Students aged under 18: Will need to download the consent form here It must be signed by a parent/carer. Students who do not return the signed consent form will be unable to participate. Forms must be returned to snap@rmit.edu.au prior to the event.

Students who are aged 18 or over: Must bring their ticket and valid photo/age ID to enter the event.
