Real Talk, Real Life: A parent and carers guide to understanding consent, sexuality and online influence for teens
Event description
Children and young people will learn about relationships and sexuality from many avenues, but home is where this valuable learning starts. Daily life creates many opportunities for passing on positive messages about bodies, trust, types of touch, privacy, respect and relationships. Grow your confidence in these discussions with children and young people in your care and learn how to respond to those tricky questions in this information session with sexual health educator Jackie Khan from True Relationships and Reproductive Health.
Topics include:
Healthy relationships including sexual relationships,
consent,
understanding diversity,
media and porn.
Jackie Khan is a sexual health educator with True and is the Education Lead for the Brisbane and Sunshine Coast regions.
Jackie has a Master of Public Health and was previously a secondary school teacher for 12 years.
With three children of her own, Jackie is passionate about the importance of comprehensive sexuality education for all young people and wants to empower parents and carers to feel confident in supporting and educating their children about sexuality and relationships.
