    Event description

To mark Carer's Week (October 13-19) we will be advocating for better education about and access to reasonable adjustments. Note that this will be held earlier than the week as a reasonable adjustment itself.

Target audience: UQ staff with caring responsibilities and/or disabilities, staff who manage other staff, and staff who teach students.

Please note that the Neurodivergent Staff Network will be running a separate session for staff who identify as neurodivergent in November. Some staff may find that session more relevant to their needs.

This workshop will cover the following:

    • What are reasonable adjustments for staff and students with disabilities and caring responsibilities?
    • Why are these important, and what laws and UQ policies dictate their application?
    • What is a reasonable versus an unreasonable adjustment?
    • What types of adjustments are there, and how do you implement/ask for them?
    • What support is there for providing or requesting adjustments?

Presented by Barbora Jedlickova and Brooke Szucs of the UQ TC Beirne School of Law.

This workshop is provided to you by UQ DIAN. Please contact uqdian@uq.edu.au with any enquiries
